Apple Float
Fast, fun, and addictive, this was a family favourite. If you put it in a tall sundae glass, it looks pretty impressive. Sometimes Mom served it with “Bird’s Cuss-tard”.
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
2 cups white sugar
2 – 4 apples, peeled and shredded
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, and gradually add sugar to form meringue. Gradually add the shredded apples, beating until fluffy.
Serve with custard sauce.
You can double this quite easily.
