Pink Applesauce
For awhile, when Mom no longer could cook, Dad tried his hand at a few things. He was proud of this apple sauce and showed me how he made it.
6 unpeeled red apples
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
Little cinnamon
Cut apples in quarters, add water, cover and cook until soft, about 20 minutes.
You can either push it through a coarse sieve to make a fine apple sauce, or serve “as is” for a heartier dish. Stir in sugar, and cinnamon. Makes about 3 cups.
