Mom’s Apple Crisp
This is it! the gold standard for that old family favourite. Good cold, hot, or in-between. Great straight, and pure perfection served warm with ice cream.
Set oven to 350°
Bottom
6 apples
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. lemon rind
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Mix and lay across bottom of large casserole.
Topping
3/4 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/3 cups butter
3/4 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
Sprinkle topping over apple mixture. Bake until apples are tender, usually about half an hour.
