Crater Cake
This was written by Mom on notepaper headed "From the Desk of George Mitchell", and dated March 14/98. It's one of Beth's yummiest!
Set oven at 350 º
1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
Cream.
2 beaten eggs
Add and beat until smooth.
1 tsp. vanilla
3 ripe bananas, mashed
Add and mix until smooth.
3 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
Add to first mixture, alternating with
1 cup sour cream
ending with dry ingredients.
Pour half mixture into 9 x 13" pan.
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
Combine and sprinkle over batter in pan.
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Sprinkle over top.
Add rest of batter, rest of brown sugar mixture and sprinkle another
3/4 cup chocolate chips over top.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
