Beloved by every man who ever ate it! Thought to be from Joe Opedisano, Dad's Flintkote pal. It’s not very Italian, is it though, even by 60s standards? Maybe Joe adapted it to Mom’s readily available ingredients. Remember Joe's homemade
wine? Mom was only used to sweet Mogan David and relegated Joe's to cooking. We enjoyed his family's visits at 4 Storey Crescent just before Christmas, the children all dressed up so prettily.
Set oven to 325°
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
1 lb. Farmer’s Sausage (or other sausage)
Fry together until no longer pink. Drain.
2 stalks celery, chopped
3 medium onions, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
Fry together until onion is tender.
1 pkg. wide egg noodles
Boil noodles until tender. Drain.
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
2 cans Tomato soup
In large pot, mix all above ingredients together with big wooden spoon.
Put in casseroles (makes 3 medium blue and white Corningware).
Grated cheddar and/or parmesan
Top with buttered bread crumbs and grated cheese, and bake for 1 hour.
Freezes well before or after baked.
