Same old one we've had for years. No improvement needed, says Al.
Set oven to 350°
Pastry
Use Mom’s recipe, unbaked.
Filling
6 to 10 apples, peeled, cored, sliced (mixing 2 or more
varieties is good)
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
Mix above in large bowl. Put them in bottom pastry shell.
Crust
Top with pie crust, basted with melted butter and sprinkled with white sugar and cinnamon mixture. Slit to let steam out.
Bake for 40 minutes until apples are soft and pastry light golden.
