Chili Con Carne
Mom made this recipe quite often. I remember she liked to make it for lunch if you visited Head Lake in the winter.
1 large onion chopped
1 lb. ground beef
1 crushed garlic clove
Brown.
1 1/2 cups kidney beans
2 cups tomatoes, stewed
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce, "Do Not Use Tomato Paste"
1 to 1 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
dash paprika
dash cayenne
Cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
