Quiche for Real Men
I think we called it Bacon and Egg Pie when the recipe came from Beth originally in the 70s. Anyway, it's full of bacon and cheese and onions, so it ain't for sissies.
Set oven to 350 degrees
1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp
Drain and cut in bite size pieces
9" unbaked pie shell (Speedy Pat In Pastry is perfect)
2 1/2 cups grated cheddar
1 onion, sliced very thinly
Sprinkle half the cheese on pastry and then half of onions.
Spread bacon bits evenly over the top and then add rest of cheese and onion.
4 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
Beat up together until smooth, then pour over the rest and sprinkle with paprika, if you like.
Bake for about an hour, until centre is firm.
